The UFC announced that Pay-Per View buys, starting with UFC 236, will be available exclusively on ESPN Plus. Dana White sat down with Megan Olivi to discuss the details of the deal.

“It’s incredible for the fans. If you think about it, this is an exclusive deal. We are exclusively with ESPN. When we were with everybody, we couldn’t even offer discounts on Pay-Per View, and things like that. You’d have to get the approval of all these different groups. Now it’s a one stop shop. ESPN is going to be able to bundle ESPN+ plus the Pay-Per Views.”

The news has drawn much skepticism and backlash on social media, with many fans questioning having to pay for ESPN+, currently costing $4.99 per month, just in order to have access to even buy the UFC event. However, Dana White sees it different:

“This is amazing for UFC fans. They are going to be able to get so much more value out of the fights, whether it’s ESPN+ or Pay-Per View now with everything being with ESPN.”

“We did this because it’s good for everybody. It’s good for us, it’s good for the fighters and it’s absolutely, positively incredible for the fans”

UFC 236 takes place on April 13th in Atlanta, Georgia with a rematch between Max Holloway and Dustin Poirier for the Interim Lightweight Title.
