Copy other people that are successful is a smart way to approach business. Jorge Masvidal appears to be copying the “Notorious” Conor McGregor after he made it known during UFC 246 Media day that he is launching his own brand of Mezcal called “Recuerdo.”
UFC didn’t want me doing this so I’m going to get some type of fine, but you guy’s need to check this bad boy out. This is me right here, we’ve been working on this for awhile.”
Masvidal currently holds the “BMF” belt after a win over Nate Diaz at UFC 244 in a third round TKO win via “Doctor Stoppage.”
He clearly has his eyes set on a Conor McGegor fight as well, citing a big “payday” as his motivation for the bout:
If me and Conor go into the Octagon, what happens? It’s one of the biggest fights in history. Just by math. With what Conor’s been doing. The last couple fights that I’ve had, the engagement and pay-per-views, I’ve broken records with ESPN. So obviously it’s a formula for success. Somebody will always have the belt at 170 lbs.”
Conor McGregor squares off against Donald Cerrone Saturday night at UFC 246. The “Notorious” currently sits as a -300 favorite over “Cowboy” at +240. The bout will take place at the T-Mobile Arena in Las Vegas, Nevada.
